Chinmay and Tanmay Samak

Tanmay Samak and Chinmay Samak (a.k.a. Tinker Twins) received the B.Tech. degree in Mechatronics Engineering with President’s Gold and Silver medals from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, India, in 2021. The duo has worked on several research projects, ranging from microelectromechanical systems all the way up to in-orbit space settlements. They developed a particularly keen interest in autonomous vehicles, which led them to pursue a direct Ph.D. at ARMLab, CU-ICAR under the supervision of Dr. Venkat Krovi. Their research approaches autonomy-oriented digital twins as two sides of the same coin: Tanmay is investigating the real2sim problem, while Chinmay is bridging the sim2real gap.
